One Ruler To Rule All Rulers!.
For anyone who designs graphics, Web sites, or both this is one of the handiest tools to have, well...handy!With it's easy accuracy, skinable interface, and minimal resource consumption Screen Calipers is the best tool of it's kind and as a Web developer is one that I never like to be without!Screen Calipers takes the guess-work out of measuring margins, padding, width, height, etc. when constructing the layout of a template making for an all-around smoother design process. You'll never want to code a style-sheet without it again!Screen Calipers' coolest function? Adjustable transparency of the calipers' interface making for more accurate measurements!Something that really makes Screen Calipers hassle-free? A simple right-click on the calipers' interface brings up a context menu where you can change the skin, adjust or turn-off the transparency, change units, calibrate units, lock an angle or measurement or both, and close the program.Units of measure include: Pixels, Inches, Centimeters, Points, Picas, Twips, and Custom (define your own custom units).Five skins are included with the installation and they are: Base Skin, Screen Ruler, Small, Tall, and (my favorite) Technical. Additional skins can be downloaded at: http://www.iconico.com/caliper/skins.aspxScreen Calipers is, in my opinion, one of the top 5 must-have programs for anyone in the Web design industry or ANY design industry for that matter!!
Pros: Transparent interface, lock measurements/angles, resource-friendly, skinable, simple
Cons: Not free, a little pricey
